Upcoming Classes
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Each week, we will work on a different skill set. By the end of this class, each student should understand the basic steps for wheel throwing.
Schedule
Week 1 - Preparing your clay, coning your clay, and centering
Week 2- Coning, Centering, opening your clay, and pulling walls
Week 3 - Opening and Pulling, Trimming if you have a piece to trim
Week 4 - Trimming and design work
Details
Every student will receive a single 25lb bag of clay to keep/take home after the class. Our air-dry clay can be thrown on the wheel. It’s very similar in feel to high- or mid-fire clay, the only difference being that it doesn't need to be fired. This unique quality allows us to experiment with how we decorate our vessels since they don’t go into a kiln.

In this course, students will have the opportunity to experience and evaluate multiple materials. We will review both natural and synthetic components as a group and discuss each material individually. This unit will cover multiple fragrance families (Florals, Fruity, and Citrus), and we will review where some molecules are found in natural materials vs being fully synthetic materials. All Materials will be provided in-house.
We work hard to keep our costs as low as possible and to make our classes accessible. That's why this class costs only $45 per class.
wk 1 - Red Floral Synthetic
wk 2 - Red Floral Natural
wk 3 - White Floral Natural
wk 4 - White Floral Synthetic
wk 5 - Fruity Synthetic
